That is the whole rule. There is no narrower category, no "ask first" tier and
nothing held back.


WHAT IT COVERS
--------------

All of it:

  - the research datasets, in their original published form
  - the CSV and Parquet conversions of them
  - the harmonised estimate-level table
  - the dataset index, the codebooks and the harmonisation mappings
  - the papers and other PDFs deposited here
  - the documentation and the site's own text
  - the software: the pipeline in `data_layer/` and the tooling in `tools/`

You may copy, redistribute, adapt and build on any of it, for any purpose,
including commercially, and including as training data for machine-learning
models. You do not need to ask.


WHAT WE ASK IN RETURN
---------------------

Credit. That is the only condition CC BY imposes.

If you use the collection, cite it:

  Havránek, T. and Z. Iršová (2026). meta-analysis.cz: harmonised estimate-level
  data from meta-analyses in economics. Zenodo.

If you use one dataset, cite the paper it was built for. Every entry in
`/api/v1/datasets.json` carries that paper's title, authors and DOI so you do not
have to look it up. Citing the paper is how attribution is satisfied for that
material.

Both, if you use both. Neither is a restriction; it is how the people who did the
collecting get credited.


FOR AUTOMATED USERS
-------------------

If you are a crawler, an agent, or a training pipeline: yes. Every file here is
CC BY 4.0 and usable, including for model training. `robots.txt` allows all major
AI crawlers explicitly. `/api/v1/datasets.json` carries a machine-readable
`license_url` on every dataset, and the schema.org, Frictionless and Croissant
records all declare the same licence. Nothing here needs a judgement call.


A NOTE ON PROVENANCE, WHICH IS NOT A RESTRICTION
------------------------------------------------

Two collections distributed here were assembled from outside sources rather than
extracted by this group: the crisis database under `ews/`, and the cross-field
archive bundled in the MAIVE replication package under `maive/`. That is recorded
so you know where the material came from and can cite it properly, not to limit
what you may do with it.
