Replication package for "Trust, Rule of Law, and the Size Premium: Evidence from a
Meta-Analysis."

This package is licensed by component. Three licenses apply.

===============================================================================
1. CODE - MIT License
===============================================================================

Applies to: run_all.R, 00_install_dependencies.R, and all files under R/,
including the BMS extension wrapper, which is the authors' own code.
(The vendored upstream BMS sources live under vendor/BMS/ and are covered by
section 3, not by this section.)

SOFTWARE.

===============================================================================
2. DATA AND DERIVED OUTPUTS - Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International
===============================================================================

Applies to: everything under data/ (analysis_ready.rds,
analysis_ready_persistent_trust.rds, and DATA_DICTIONARY.md) and the derived
deliverables in tables/, outputs/, and figures/. The package documentation
(README.md) is likewise CC BY 4.0.

These materials are licensed under CC BY 4.0. You are free to share and adapt
them for any purpose, including commercially, provided you give appropriate

Provenance. These are derived data. The reported size-slope estimates and the
study-design codings originate in the estimate-level archive of Astakhov,
Havranek and Novak (2019); the generalized- and family-trust measures derive
from the European Values Study and the World Values Survey; the governance
measures derive from the World Bank's Worldwide Governance Indicators; the
macro-financial controls derive from their respective public sources. Users of
this package must observe the terms of those upstream sources in addition to
this license, and should cite the original data providers alongside this
package.

===============================================================================
3. VENDORED BMS SOURCES - BSD 3-Clause
===============================================================================

Applies to: everything under vendor/BMS/.

That directory is derived from the upstream BMS package (Copyright (c) 2022,
Stefan Zeugner) and remains under its original BSD 3-Clause license. The full
text is in vendor/BMS/LICENSE, and the declared license is recorded in
vendor/BMS/DESCRIPTION. The local additive modification, which accumulates
posterior coefficient cross-moments during MCMC, is documented in
vendor/BMS/LOCAL_MODIFICATIONS.md. Redistribution of that directory must
respect the upstream BSD 3-Clause terms.
